A New Set of Wheels

Alhumdulillah the last week or so has brought along with it really good weather. It has been really warm and sunny; weather that makes you feel alive and happy as opposed to the normal, gloomy weather most people are used to in this country.

I really love the heat, but my body has its own problems during this time of the year. The heat gives me nose bleeds on a daily basis which leaves me really weak (due to anemia). Nevertheless, I try to enjoy the weather as much as I can.

One of my favourite ways of enjoying this weather is to go for a nice long drive. It is the Mercy and Grace of Allah that He has given me two beautiful cars which are not more than three years old; one being a small polo and the other a Mercedes.

I decided that the Mercedes would be a better option for this long drive. So, I seated myself in (and yes, I did have my seat-belt on) and I set off for a drive. Five minutes down the road and I thought to myself 'great weather for a convertible, I should get of those...' And, sometimes, without realising, we tend to forget what we have and in turn we forget to appreciate it.

It wasn't long before I had thought this that I came to a halt at a traffic light. The people at the pedestrian crossing were trotting across the street and amongst the bustle of the people I saw a person in a small car used by invalid people.

I realised, that though we may not have a posh car or cars that we would like to have, we should be grateful that at least we have some sort of car. And for those who don't have a car, we should really be grateful that at least we are not dependent on some sort of transport because our feet cannot carry us.

POINT:

I am not saying that to desire for a better car is a sin, nor am I saying that we should stop living and enjoying ourselves. Sometimes, we find it hard to stay on the path of religion because we fail to understand what religion is. The truth is that we are not asked to sacrifice our pleasures, but we are asked not to sacrifice our religion for our pleasures. To wish for a great car is not a problem, but to be ungrateful for what one already has is not an act of a true believer.

I pray to Allah that He keeps our mind open towards His religion so that we can understand His way, His choices and His Will in each step that we take. I pray to Allah that if we ever slip from His path that He sends us a simple sign to remind us of Him and His mercy upon us. Aameen.

As Salaamu Alaykum,

Jazakallah Sister Sajeda for the comments.

I pray to Allah that the few posts that have presented have aided people into looking at life with a different perspective.

Somtimes the answer is right in front of our eyes yet we fail to conceive and understand it.

I don't know how many more posts will be coming on these blogs anymore as I may be ending these blogs. But I do pray to Allah that He accepts those few that I have written and forgives the many shortcomings. I pray that He makes these words a source of guidance and continues its good through time so that it make become a source of salvation. Aameen

Assalamu alaikum,

Ok where shall I start...

Firstly, Mashallah 2 ur post.Mashallah so much 2 learn...
Shukr 4 what we have is vry important and like u say to b ungrateful for what we already have is not an act of a true believer bcuz, if we were true believers every little thing given 2 us wud mean everything 2 us. Your post reminds me of the example of the daughter of Shurja Kirmanee and the peice of bread...

I hope u get well soon, ALLAH (swt) is the one to give shifaa, plz make dua 4 my dad too...

hmmmm...ok im making xtra, xtra special dua that u dont end ur blogs cuz like saj bhen I've really (REALLY) benefitted from them and without ur encouragemnt, comments and support I wud have given up a long, long time ago with mine...
Br Zain pleeeeeeeaaaase reconsider...please...

I pray that whatever decision you make, U remain happy with it and that ALLAH (swt)keeps u happy and successful in whatever u do for indeed u r one of his very special slaves. When ALLAH (swt) gives izzat to a person he loves, everyone looks upto that person and looks for guidance and help from them...I pray ALLAH (swt)keeps u as dedicated 2 helping the ummah as I feel u are... and im still gonna make so much dua that u dont give up ur blogs

Wassalam

As Salaamu Alaykum,

Sis Mujahdah could you please enlighten us with the story of the daughter of Shurja Kirmanee and the peice of bread (if it is not too much trouble).

Insha-Allah I will be making special Du'aa for you and your father. Is he okay? Anything seriously wrong? I pray that Allah grants Him Shifaa.

Insha-Allah I will be reconsidering about the blogs and I hope that somehow people can benefit from what is already here.

Jazakallah for the comments, thought I am not worthy of it. I pray to Allah that He raises me in His sight and the sight of His beloved. Aameen

Asalamu alaikum,

Ameen wa sum ameen to the duas and Jazakallah khair.

My dad suffers from a illness that I would not wish on anyone...Plz brother make dua for him, I don't know whos duas mite help. I know that ALLAH (swt) is listening to my duas and I know that whatever he wills is best for his slaves but I just want2 see my dad healthy and able to thank his lord...

I actually heard about the story of Shurja Kirmanees' daughter in a bayaan. I'm just gonna refresh my memory on it and Inshallah I'll post it :)

If its of any value, if you need any help with your blogs 2 keep them going I honestly dont mind helping. I can imagine how hard it must b managing all of them (I get tired of the mine sometimes!)

May ALLAH (swt) give us all the inclination to do all we do only for his pleasure and may he grant us all good health.Ameen.

I was planning to make all three blogs into one. The reason why I'm online at 2.37am was because I wanted to ask your opinion on that. I had no way else to contact you so I was really bugged and had to come online and mention it here :$

Hope all is well with you. PLease do remember me in your Duas.

Assalaamu alaykum.

Thanks for the reminder.

Just like the nations before us, we have been given a test too. Ours being Wealth, not the lack of it but the excess of it.
However being grateful for it is something rarely done, we usualy forget where our blessings came from.

When will we life the veils from our hearts and seek the heart of purity?

May Allah guide us before its too late.

Aameen to all the above duahs.

i dnt mean to offend anyone. As a muslim it is my duty to enjoin good and forbid evil.I am in no way perfect-none of us are, but we still have this duty to advise and help one another towards our ultimate goal-Allah's pleasure.

I think that it is inappropriate for an Aalim and ghair mahram females to communicate in the way done here. The boundry has been crossed.shaitaan is using ur fikr for deen and causing url to oversee the damage caused in another way.I dnt think i have to go into detail about the communication of males and females in Islam, url are aware of it.It is restricted in many ways.In real life, would we go up to each other in public and talk as we have done? I dnt think so.So what makes it any different on the net? Allah is still watching us.

May Allah protect us from our enemy shaitaan and his trickery.Ya Allah, please help us in our struggle against our nafs, open our eyes to our mistakes and strengthen us by accepting them and correcting them

Ameen.

PS-Please forgive me if i have offended anyone.I am the worst of all and the advice is firstly to myself.please take it in te spirit in which it was given.

Jazakallah "Anonymous" for your kind words and concern regarding the comments. It is vital that we do not forget the purpose of this blog and that we make sure that all comments are kept in context of the blog.

I feel that the regular commenting has left us a little more open towards commenting more freely.

Jazakallah for the reminder and the kind words and concern.

I have taken no offence whatsoever from this comment and I hope that no one else does too. Insha Allah I will try and ensure that comments are kept in context and that there is less mixing.

Jazakallah once again, may Allah reward you.
